Single Origin - Lamas Province, Peru

A coffee which captures the flavors of Peru with notes of chocolate, panela, honey and a hint of bright orange zest on the finish. Smooth and independent by itself, but developed just enough to stand up beautifully to milk too. 

This is a single-origin offering from a unique place nestled in the high jungle region where the Amazon rainforest meets the Andes mountains. We needed to experience it for ourselves, so we caught a red-eye via Lima to the Amazon crossroads of Tarapoto. From there we rode a couple of hours up treacherous,  misty roads until the way was no longer passable and our driver stopped. Then began our trek: two hours up verdant trails alongside our new friends Carlos (multi-generational coffee farmer) and Jorge (the mule who provides transport for the green coffee from the farm). 

Once we arrived at the farm and saw the care Carlos puts into harvesting only the best coffee from his shade-grown plants, we knew this would be our first lot. We're excited to share this one-of-a-kind bean with you.
